emergency rental assistance

Two anonymous donors have each pledged a donation of $10,000, if the Catherine McAuley Center can raise matching funds totaling $20,000. All funds raised will support a special EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE FUND for people in need in our community.

This special CHALLENGE MATCH APPEAL has the potential to generate a total of $40,000 in support for people facing homelessness or eviction here in our own local neighborhoods.

To designate your donation toward this much-needed initiative, select the "Emergency Rental Assistance" designation from the drop-down menu when you make your gift by clicking the donate button, above.
Renters facing the threat of eviction who would like to apply for assistance should click HERE to complete the online application form or DOWNLOAD a .pdf form to print, complete and submit to the Catherine McAuley Center at the address above.  Assistance will be paid directly to landlords and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out (which we anticipate happening quickly.) Call 570-342-1342 with any questions.
The Catherine McAuley Center has received a 100 out of 100 rating by Charity Navigator through their Encompass Rating System, a comprehensive evaluation tool that analyzes nonprofit performance based on four key indicators. Charity Navigator’s third-party accreditation validates our organization’s operational excellence.

This achievement couldn’t have happened without you and your support. Thank you for being part of our family as contributors, funders, and volunteers. Your trust in us is what makes the difference to us and the individuals and families we serve.

Donor Spotlight: Pathways Consulting group

Established in 2006, Pathways Consulting Group services the metropolitan New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New England and Mid-Atlantic region, helping organizations align IT with their business goals, but the firm’s headquarters is right here in Olyphant, PA.

When Pathways launched its WeCare Community Outreach Program two years ago, the company felt it was important to contribute to organizations within the greater Scranton area where most of its team members live.

It was one of those team members who nominated The Catherine McAuley Center as a beneficiary of the program’s efforts.

“We were so inspired by what Catherine McAuley Center does for the women and children in the area that we felt strongly we needed to include you,” explained Pathways representative Ashley Guyt.

Before COVID-19, the WeCare program would collect monetary donations throughout a given month or two. At the end of that time, they would go on a shopping trip, purchase as many items as they could off a list of needed items, and then drop them off at the Center.

This past May, they were able to collect $750 in cash donations while some team members ordered new bed linens for McAuley clients and had them shipped directly to the Center. Collections have continued through the month of June.

“When COVID19 struck, we couldn’t help but think about all you do and the incredible struggles you must be going through to continue to provide your services to the woman and children who so desperately depend on the Center,” Guyt said. “We are truly amazed to see how you have responded and continue to do everything that you possibly can during these difficult times. We feel honored to continue to help.”

As if that were not generous enough, WeCare Community Outreach also participated in the Catherine McAuley Center’s Adopt-A-Family program last holiday season and is looking forward to purchasing gifts for another family this winter.

Thank you, Pathways Consulting Group!
